Carole Townsend

Carole Townsend has been a newspaper journalist and columnist in metropolitan Atlanta for nearly 20 years. In 2011, her first book was published, and she has written and published five more since then. In 2017, her fourth book, BLOOD IN THE SOIL, earned her the distinction of FINALIST for Georgia Author of the Year. BLOOD IN THE SOIL investigates the story behind the 1978 shooting of Larry Flynt. This new book catapulted Carole into the national spotlight, and she has enjoyed being a guest on many national talk shows and podcasts as a result of her telling of the astounding story.

Her fifth book details the history of the beautiful, tech-savvy Georgia city of Peachtree Corners, and earned her Georgia Author of the Year awards n 2022. The last unraveling the real story behind the Atlanta Braves’ surprising move from Fulton County, GA , to Cobb County, GA.
